At Dehns, we’re always inspired by the innovative work of our clients. We’re delighted to announce that two of them have been nominated by CIPA for the prestigious Earthshot Prize; an award that celebrates ground-breaking solutions to some of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Firstly, we’re proud to share that ProCarbon has been nominated for its outstanding contributions to sustainability. The company has pioneered a method of upcycling waste materials into bio-carbon stone—a revolutionary construction material that helps reduce carbon footprints and sequesters carbon for decades. Made from a unique combination of charcoal and cashew nut shell liquid, ProCarbon’s innovation not only tackles climate change but also benefits cashew-producing communities. By creating a valuable product from waste, ProCarbon is turning environmental challenges into opportunities for positive impact.

We’re also equally excited to announce that The Fish Friendly Hydropower Company has been nominated for their innovative PicoStream floating turbine. This compact, floating power-barrel represents a new era in electricity generation from rivers – delivering 24/7 clean electricity while protecting aquatic ecosystems; a remarkable advancement for clean energy generation. Using recycled ocean plastics and revolutionary fish-friendly design, the PicoStream offers a scalable solution for the 940 million people worldwide lacking reliable electricity access. Its rapid installation and minimal environmental impact make it a game-changer for global clean energy adoption.

Here at Dehns, we’re constantly inspired by the work of our all of clients; we’re especially proud of these two organisations for their nominations and we’re honoured to be a part of their journey in building a better world.

Best of luck to all the nominees, and we look forward to supporting more trailblazing solutions that help build a more sustainable future!
