Amelia is a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Dehns Biotechnology Group. She joined the Dehns London Office in September 2023.
Prior to starting at Dehns, Amelia completed an MSc in Genomics with distinction at the University of Southampton. For her dissertation project, she worked with the AI-driven drug discovery company Evariste to investigate novel therapeutic treatments for oesophageal adenocarcinoma. Before this, Amelia graduated from the University of Southampton with a first-class BSc degree in Biochemistry, with her final project focusing on devising a drug development business plan.
Amelia has worked with a range of clients, from small-to-medium-sized businesses and sole inventors to larger companies. She has gained experience working in multiple jurisdictions, such as the EPO, the UK, the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, India, and Japan, with the majority of her work concerning the filing and prosecution of patent applications.
Amelia has worked on a variety of technologies in the fields of biochemistry and biotechnology, including inventions related to nucleic acid detection and amplification, modulation of gene expression, therapeutic uses of pharmaceutical compositions, immunology, and oncology.
